This is based on my wife's and my entire 9 month pregnancy here and our choice to work specifically with the mid-wives which I highly recommend.
I cannot comment on the doctor's care, though the one on call during our delivery day did stop in to say hi during their shift which was very kind. Definitely consider care with Westside's mid-wife group, you'll be very happy with your experience.
I went to every appointment and at each one mid-wives were incredibly patient and understanding as we were and still are first time parents. We ended up seeing almost all of the midwives (a different one each time) which they did on purpose as they said it was great to know each one because you will never know who will be on call for your delivery.
Throughout pregnancy we had some issues, IUGR and low heart rate, that were well monitored and we had trust in the care and process. Due to baby's issues we were induced one week early as a precaution.
For delivery we also felt in good care during the entire process. The mid-wives agreed and went with all of our preferences to induce naturally at first. Then we went to our plan B. They were sure to ask and note all of our other care preferences and never deviated from our wishes. We were in delivery for a bit over 24 hours. We started off with the mid-wife Pam, moved onto another midwife and then Pam was back on. As we were about to deliver Pam's shift was over. So naturally we expected another mid-wife to come on duty. But no, Pam stayed over two hours (after already working 12 hours) to see our delivery through. She also stopped back in the day after our delivery to check in on us. It's people like this, it's experiences like this that make us feel blessed to have Westside and mid-wives like Pam who truly care about their patients and patients experience. But make no mistake, all the midwives here were wonderful to us every visit and throughout our care. We welcomed our little boy into the world and cannot think of another place we would rather be seen with.
